F1: Red Bull to change name of AlphaTauri team: Confirmed! (Update)
–by Mark Cipolloni–
AlphaTauri will no longer be called AlphaTauri in Formula 1 next year.
Dr. Helmut Marko explained in an interview with Austria’s Kleine Zeitung.
“The course is clear: Follow Red Bull Racing as far as the regulations allow. Designing your own is not the way,” said the 80-year-old Red Bull advisor.
“There will be new sponsors and a new name.”
But Marko is not yet willing to reveal what the team will be called from next season onwards.

Dr. Helmut Marko has said that they are looking at changing the name of the AlphaTauri Formula 1 team.
“It is something we are reconsidering,”
“It is logical too. The branding of AlphaTauri has been scaled back somewhat because only in a few countries where we race, AlphaTauri is actually sold.”
Since Red Bull owns the team, for marketing purposes, one would think they would want Red Bull in the name to advertise the brand and get more mileage out of the dollars they spend in the sport.
Potential names might be:
- Red Bull Junior Team
- Red Bull 2 Team
- Red Bull B Team
- Red Bull Zero Team (Zero Calorie Red Bull)
- Others?
