WEC: Avis Budget Group announces new partnership with WEC and Le Mans
–Press Release–
Avis Budget Group (Nasdaq: CAR), a leading provider of mobility solutions, and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), which includes the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans as its headline race, have today announced a new partnership.
Under the agreement, Avis has been named a Premium Partner for the FIA WEC – which sees global marques including Ferrari, Porsche, Peugeot, Toyota and Cadillac go head-to-head on some of the world’s best race circuits over races of between six and 24 hours.
Avis will be the WEC’s Official Vehicle Rental Services Premium Partner for the 2023 season of seven races including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, which celebrates its centenary in June.
The WEC is the first elite championship in motorsport to use 100% renewable fuel. As part of a shared vision with WEC to prepare for a sustainable mobility future, Avis’s electric and hybrid fleet will be promoted as an option for fans to travel sustainably to each event as well as to those involved in logistics for WEC and the race teams.
Keith Rankin, President, International at Avis Budget Group said: “We are delighted to be announcing this new partnership which coincides with the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Endurance resonates deeply with our company, as a business built on nearly 80 years of delivering mobility solutions to millions of customers now with 11,000 locations in 180 countries.”
Avis is dedicated to building completely connected journeys where consumers use multiple mobility services to travel from point A to point B. Through offerings such as QuickPass, the pre-registration service for counter bypass, to fully flexible booking and all-inclusive coverage packages, to Avis Preferred, the fast-lane service for loyal renters, Avis continues to evaluate opportunities to deliver a seamless rental experience.
Louise Morgan, Senior Director of International Marketing at Avis Budget Group said: “The World Endurance Championship is the pinnacle of endurance motor sport and there is strong synergy between the Championship and Avis – every driver changeover matters as much to us as it does to teams working in the pitlane at Le Mans and every rental journey for us is a new lap of the circuit.”
Frédéric Lequien, CEO of FIA WEC said: “We are delighted to welcome Avis to the FIA World Endurance Championship family. Avis is a trusted brand with a shared heritage of innovation and excellence in its delivery of mobility solutions and we look forward to a successful partnership in this exciting year for endurance motorsport.”
