F1: Verstappen must pay $1 million to defend his F1 title
Max Verstappen has hit out at the $1 million that must be paid to the FIA for his F1 2023 Super License.
Verstappen scored 454 points on his way to the 2022 Drivers’ title, winning a record 15 races, but this has landed him with a record fee of over $1 million to defend his F1 title in 2023.
“I think the amount is absurd,” said Verstappen, as per Motorsport-Total.com. “I don’t think it’s right that we have to pay so much.
“That’s not the case in other sports either. And there are more and more races.”
“I’m afraid we (Red Bull) have to pay that, not Max, per our contract with him” Helmut Marko stated.
