NASCAR: Finish Line team pulls out of Daytona 500

Finish Line Motorsports Marketing was expected to enter the No. 80 machine in this year’s Daytona 500. The car was set to be driven by JJ Yeley.

It would have been the 7th open (non-charter) entry for the famed event. Only four open cars will qualify for the Daytona 500 with the 36 charter teams locked into the event.

Their debut has since been pushed back to Phoenix Raceway.

“To clarify with everyone, We’ve been working with Frontline Motorsports to run a number of Cup Series events as an open car,” Reaume Brothers Racing stated.

“With several factors in play, a decision was made this afternoon to delay the teams debut. An official announcement can be expected Monday.”

On its website, Finish Line Motorsports Marketing states that it has been in operation since 1997. The company claims to have had a presence in marketing within the worlds of NASCAR and IndyCar.
