F1: Miami GP increases seating, suite and general admission capacity
South Florida Motorsports (SFM), the organizers of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX have increased capacity of the Miami International Autodrome for the 2023 event due to high demand, with expanded grandstands, new hospitality suites and an updated Campus Pass for general admission spectators.
Given the success of last year’s sell-out event, organizers previously announced there would be an increase of 3,000 grandstand seats for this year’s race on May 5-7, 2023, taking the total number to 56,000. Due to high demand, marquee features from 2022, such as The Yacht Club at the MIA Marina and the Hard Rock Beach Club are expanding. In addition, organizers have added 61 new hospitality suites and two new luxury club spaces, The Vista at Turn 1 and The Boathouse at MIA Marina. For 2023, a brand new permanent Formula 1® Paddock Club building will span multiple levels alongside Hard Rock Stadium offering unparalleled views of the pitlane and start/finish straight and will feature luxury hospitality spaces and exquisite catering courtesy of DO & CO.
The final general admission ticket release, an upgraded 3-day General Admission Campus Pass, which goes on-sale today, will allow more fans to experience Formula 1® and the culture of Miami through access to unique locations around the venue. This includes elevated viewing platforms on Trackside Lane — situated between Turns 8 and 10 and access to the Official F1® Fan Zone, including racing simulators and various food and drink offerings.
For the first time all attending fans will have an exclusive insight into the behind-the-scenes working of a Formula 1® paddock from the 300 level of Hard Rock Stadium which will look directly into the Team Village from above. The Team Village is one of the major updates for 2023 and sees the hospitality units of the ten F1® teams relocated to the Miami Dolphins football field in the center of Hard Rock Stadium, where the drivers will be based across the weekend. This is accessible to all ticket holders including the General Admission Campus Pass, who will also have panoramic external views of Miami International Autodrome from this level, as well as being able to journey through many iconic parts of the MIA Campus.
General Admission Campus Pass holders will be able to visit the MIA Marina where the stunning luxury yachts are located on the inside of Turns 6-7. Here they can dine on the deck of the Yacht Club and enjoy various food and beverage options that specialize in local South Florida cuisine. Campus Pass admission also includes access to The Fountains which is located on the south side of the stadium directly opposite the F1® podium where fans can watch the celebrations with the top three drivers of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX 2023.
“Our first race last May was a sell-out success in which more than 240,000 spectators visited Miami International Autodrome for an unforgettable experience,” said Tyler Epp, President of FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX. “Due to overwhelming demand we have been maximizing the venue to increase grandstand capacity, expand hospitality and to improve the experience for our General Admission Campus Pass ticket holders, to give the opportunity for even more fans to experience the incredible spectacle of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX. In everything we do we are committed to providing an unparalleled fan experience to ensure Miami will be one of the must-attend races on the Formula 1® calendar for the next decade.
The success of the first-ever FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX was measured by a boost of $350 million to the local economy, both in Miami Gardens and the wider South Florida and Greater Miami region. The benefit to the local community is set to continue in the race’s second edition as organizers have confirmed numerous programs, such as an expanded F1 in Schools program, the commitment to work with local Miami Gardens restaurant partners to showcase their business at this international event — as well as an enhanced internship program through the launch of MIA Academy. This will see the program become a comprehensive learning experience which includes weekly virtual enrichment classes prior to the start of a paid 12-week in-person internship starting in February.
