F1: Safety Car driver led more laps than Hamilton in 2022

7-time F1 driver champion Lewis Hamilton had the worst season of his career in 2022.

For the first time, Hamilton did not find himself ranking favorably in the list of laps led during the season, so much so that even the safety car driver Bernd Maylander led more laps than him.

Hamilton only managed to lead 46 laps in 2022 and Maylander beat him.

F1 had 24 safety car periods last season compared to only 16 in 2021, and as many as 21 VSC periods in races last season compared to only 10 in 2021.
