Toyota announces 2023 Super Taikyu teams, completes SUPER GT and Super Formula driver line-ups
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has announced its Super Taikyu series team set-ups and completed the 2023 driver line-ups in SUPER GT and Japanese Super Formula Championship.
Super Taikyu series
- In addition to a vehicle based on GR Corolla and utilizing a hydrogen combustion engine, ROOKIE Racing will also enter the ST-Q class with a vehicle based on the GR86, which will use biomass-derived synthetic fuel. TGR will also continue to implement testing at racing events in order to explore new options to achieve carbon neutrality.
- TOM’S SPIRIT will race in the ST-4 class with the GR86 in 2023.

SUPER GT
GT500 Class
- TGR will participate with the GR Supra GT500 again in 2023.
- We will support six teams, comprising a total of six vehicles, through TOYOTA CUSTOMIZING & DEVELOPMENT Co., Ltd. (TCD).
- Ukyo Sasahara is confirmed as a driver in TGR TEAM Deloitte TOM’S.

Japanese Super Formula Championship
- TRD (Toyota Racing Development) will supply 11 vehicles from six teams with two-liter four-cylinder direct injection gasoline turbo engines (TRD 01F).
- All vehicles will be equipped with tires produced by Yokohama.
- Kazuto Kotaka, who was crowned series champion in the 2022 Japanese Super Formula Lights Championship, will participate for the first time.
- Giuliano Alesi is confirmed as the #36 driver for Kuo VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S.
