Rumor: Binotto cannot work for another F1 team for 1-year
Mattia Binotto will not be able to join another F1 team in the coming year. The former Ferrari team boss is reportedly on a 12-month ‘gardening leave’.
Formu1a.uno are reporting that Binotto and Ferrari have agreed on a 12-month ‘gardening leave’ period. Binotto still had a contract for 2023 and thus remains linked to Ferrari for as long as his contract lasted.
Binotto will not have to do any work for Ferrari during this period, but he will also not be allowed to work for another F1 team. Ferrari has reportedly managed this by compensating the former team boss financially.
