Rumor: Hunter-Reay and Kanaan to drive in 2023 Indy 500 (Update)

Half of this rumor is upgraded to ‘fact’ today with this announcement that Kanaan will drive a 4th car for Arrow McLaren SP in the 2023 Indy 500.

November 1, 2022

Rumor has it that former Indy 500 and IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay will pilot a 4th Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda in the 2023 Indy 500. Sponsorship is already secured.

Nothing is signed yet, and we hear Hunter-Reay as a few offers on the table.

Meanwhile, we hear that former Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan has signed to drive a 4th Arrow McLaren Chevy in next year’s Indy 500 alongside Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi and Felix Rosenqvist.

Although Kanaan is already signed, everyone involved are denying it, so there is some ‘excitement’ in the official announcement.
