TV News: Weekend USA TV Ratings
Rating Analysis
NASCAR: By moving the NASCAR Las Vegas Cup and Xfinity races from NBCSN last year to NBC this year, NASCAR got a 25% increase in viewership this year on NBC. Only 19% of the viewers were in the all important 18-49 year old age group.
MotoGP: The tape delayed MotoGP race from Phillip Island, Australia on NBC pulled a 0.34 rating with 499,000 people tuned in. There was no race there the past two years due to the Chinese Covid Pandemic
NHRA: The NHRA Fall Nationals on FS1 only had 201,000 people tuned in, down 10.27% from last year on the same network. What is alarming for the NHRA is that only 7% of the people tuned in were in the 18-49 year old age group, indicating that the series may soon have one foot in the grave as their fan base ages out.
