F1: Foul-mouthed Hamilton has a short memory (Update)

Not only did Lewis Hamilton screw himself in the Dutch GP by not making the call to go on soft Pirellis when the safety car was deployed like George Russell decided to do, it now has come to light that the Brit made another fatal mistake.

According to both The Race and Auto Motor Und Sport, Hamilton accidentally switched to the wrong engine mode. The mode reduced power at a pivotal moment for the Mercedes driver, who was trying to fend off a faster Red Bull filling his mirror at the restart. Verstappen sailed past almost instantly, the RB17’s pre-existing pace advantage and new tires compounding with the engine-mode mistake to make his job easy.

Hamilton and his team also made a fatal mistake in the 2021 season ending Abu Dhabi GP by staying out on worn tires and subsequently getting destroyed by Max Verstappen.

You can only deflect the blame so long for your own stupidity.

“Following the restart in the Dutch, Hamilton made a series of expletive-laden radio transmissions to his team.

“We seem to remember that Lewis was very vocal last year about driver’s language over the radio, reminding everyone that they were ambassadors of the sport, idols to younger drivers and children and should be very careful in their use of certain words on the radio.

“I can’t believe you guys f**** me, can’t tell you how *** I am,” Hamilton furiously said on his team radio.

“What happened?”
