IndyCar: Power leads Penske 1-2-3 in practice 2

The only cars in the field, running the special Penske shocks only Team Penske has, ran 1-2-3 in Practice 2 for the Grand Prix of Portland NTT IndyCar race.

Will Power turned a lap of 58.3946s to nip his two teammates in equally superior cars, Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin.

Colton Herta was the quickest of the 2nd tier cars that have no chance of beating the Penske Chevys. Herta’s lap of 58.7201s 0.3255 sec behind – i.e. out to lunch without a chance.

Christian Lundgaard rounded out the top-5 for RLL.

The top seven drivers in the 45-minute session produced quicker laps than the pole time of 58.7701 by Alex Palou last year.

NTT P1 Award qualifying is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. ET this afternoon, with a 30-minute final practice at 7:15 p.m. ET concluding a hectic Saturday. Qualifying and final practice will be broadcast live on Peacock Premium and the INDYCAR Radio Network.
