IndyCar: Power tops IndyCar PIR test, then crashes
2022 IndyCar points leader Will Power topped IndyCar test times Friday at Portland International Raceway in his #12 Penske Chevy running special Penske shocks that should guarantee he break Mario Andretti’s all-time pole record next weekend. Both are currently tied at 67.
Unfortunately, Power crashed a few laps later and the front-end damage was not repairable in time to get backout.
He was not the only driver to crash. Roman Grosjean wadded up the #28 DHL Andretti Honda (twice) and, hence, only completed 61 laps.
Devlin DeFrancesco spun off a few times, Colton Herta spun, and Alexander Rossi Spun, all like a bunch of rank amateurs.

Colton Herta was 2nd quick in his Andretti Honda, but he could not touch Power’s lap time.
