F1: French GP Ratings Details
In addition to our TV Ratings analysis for this past weekend we published earlier, we have additional details regarding the French GP on ESPN.
The race averaged over 1.058 million viewers, with 471,000 in the all-important 18-49 age group, up +11% vs. last year’s French GP (426K viewers 18-49 years old).
The total audience peaked at 1.3 million in the last 15 minutes of the race.
F1 qualifying on ESPN on Saturday morning average 667,000 viewers, the largest audience of the day on the network.
The 2022 F1 season is continuing to average 1.3M viewers, now up +35% vs. the full 2021 F1 season (949K viewers)
Through 12 races, the 2022 season is 33% larger than the season-to-date 2021 F1 season (965K viewers, through 11 races given that this year’s first-half had more races than last season’s first-half)
The 2022 French GP is now the seventh most-viewed F1 GP on ESPN on-record, and is within the top-10 of most-viewed races on cable ever.
This year’s race was the 3rd most-viewed French GP ever, behind 2007’s tape-delayed original broadcast on FOX (1.3M viewers) and last year’s 1.064 million viewers
