TV news: Weekend USA TV Ratings (Update)
Some additional context on the F1 TV rating:
- It was the most-viewed F1 race from Italy (any circuit) on cable on record
- It’s the third most-viewed F1 race from Italy on record on both cable and broadcast, behind the tape-delayed broadcasts of the 2006 San Marino GP on CBS and 2002 Italian GP on ABC (1.6M and 1.05M average viewers, respectively)
- It was the 6th most-viewed F1 race on cable on record
- It ranks third in viewership this season out of four races, behind the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain GPs (1.44M and 1.35M average viewers, respectively)
- Viewership was up 15 percent over 4th race of year last year (Spain – it averaged 870K)
- Through 4 races ESPN is averaging 1.1 million viewers, up 22 pct over first 4 races of 2021 (909K)
- Peak for Sunday was 1.2 million between 10:15-10:30 am ET

TV ratings from this past weekend are out and the highlights are:
- The Geico 500 NASCAR Cup race from Talladega on FOX saw a decrease of 7.1% from 2021
- The NASCAR Xfinity race on FOX saw a nice increase of 24.0% over the 2021 rating
- The Emilia Romagna F1 race from Imola on ESPN saw a healthy increase of 24.5% over the 2021 rating. A good rating for 9:00am ET when the West Coast is still asleep. Once again the F1 race drew the best ratio of 18-49 year old viewers to total viewers – extremely important to advertisers because this age group are the biggest spenders on advertiser products
- The ARCA race moved from FS1 last year to FOX this year and, hence, saw a rating increase of 20.7%
