F1: Alonso super excited about Las Vegas street circuit

2-Time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso says he is surprised by how fast the Las Vegas circuit looks, especially for a street circuit.

The sport will have three races in the United States next year, with Austin being joined by Miami and Las Vegas.

It takes a special event to close down the main Strip in Las Vegas.

They would never do it for IndyCar or NASCAR, but F1 is that something special.

The layout of the circuit is such that the cars will race past famous Vegas hotels and casinos at some of the highest speeds recorded on the entire calendar. Watch the video to see just how fast the cars will be racing in Las Vegas.

“It’s going to be super fast,” he remarked in a video released by Alpine.

“I thought it was much slower.

“I’m surprised about the speed that you will get on those.

“I thought it was more like Baku, the style, with a lot of corners and maybe one long straight. But this is all straights.”
