Supercars: Davison and De Pasquale dominate Friday qualifying for 2nd two races

The Shell V-Power Ford Mustang duo of Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison will start on pole position for Race 8 and Race 9 respectively at the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400.

De Pasquale pipped Davison in Qualifying for Race 8 before Davison flipped the script in ARMOR ALL Qualifying for Race 9, edging his teammate by 0.0071 to claim his 3rd pole of 2022 and second of this event.

Repco Supercars Championship leader Shane van Gisbergen was third and sixth fastest for Red Bull Ampol Racing across the two sessions at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.

With qualifying out of the way the four pole positions for this weekend’s four races have been decided. David Reynolds, Davison, De Pasquale and Davison again will start on the top spot on the grid for each of the four races respectively.

Drivers continued to battle with the new surface, and it was Todd Hazelwood today who lost control of his car at the hot spot Turn 5, swiping a tyre wall and doing enough damage to his Truck Assist Commodore to rule him out of the final qualifying session of the event.

All Supercars attention now turns to this weekend’s four races, where the driver who accumulates the most points will be awarded the Larry Perkins Trophy.
