Rumor: Andretti could take team to NASCAR if rejected by F1

If Michael Andretti’s application to start an F1 team is rejected by the FIA this month, he could very well take the money and start a NASCAR team.

Andretti‬ told Sports Business Journal that getting his team into NASCAR “could be an opportunity down the road,” though it’s not on the front burner currently.

“I always keep the door open (to NASCAR)….It’s the No. 1 auto racing sport in the U.S., so it would be nice one day.”

With Andretti’s close ties to Honda, and past rumors of Honda eyeing NASCAR,  speculation is that it could be an Andretti/Honda team.
