IndyCar: Friday Morning Report from St Petersburg, Florida

Good morning from picture perfect Florida where the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding  will start the 2022 season  this Sunday.   The temperatures will be in the low 80s today for the first IndyCar practice late this afternoon at 3:40 pm CT.

Yesterday was the Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the famous Vinoy hotel,  right off the beach, to kick off this action packed weekend.  The newly elected  mayor of St. Pete, Ken Welch, praised the city council for approving this event, the largest for the city, bringing in 50 million dollars.

Several IndyCar and Indy Lights drivers attended the luncheon.
