Automotive: Nicolas Brown appointed as President of McLaren, The Americas
McLaren, The Americas today announces the permanent appointment of Nicolas Brown as President of the Americas region. Brown had taken the position on an interim basis in July following Tony Joseph’s decision to step down.
Before joining McLaren in May 2019, Brown had a 16-year career with the BMW Group encompassing both the Rolls-Royce and BMW brands in North America and Europe, holding senior positions in sales, marketing, finance, product management and strategy.
Since then, in his role as Vice President of Sales, he has been instrumental in helping McLaren in the US, Canadian and Latin American markets secure a healthy and balanced inventory across the 31-strong retailer network, has improved retailer profitability, and secured record Certified Pre-Owned sales in the region, leading to strengthened residual values across all model lines.
“Nicolas has already proven himself to be a great asset to our business in the Americas,” said George Biggs, Global Commercial Executive Director. “We look forward to him leading the team in our biggest global market, as the company moves into its second decade and beyond.”
Says Nicolas Brown: “I am thrilled to be given this exciting opportunity to lead the Americas team as we transition into a key period in the growth and maturity of McLaren in this marketplace.
“We are now readying ourselves for the biggest transition in product since we introduced the 12C back in December 2011, with the all-new McLaren Artura, which will be instrumental in setting our course in the Americas as we make the transition to electrified and hybrid powertrains.
“In addition, we’ll be moving into our new Americas headquarters in Dallas, Texas, early next year, enabling us to support our retailers with even more comprehensive aftersales, training and technical support. There is a bright future to look forward to as we continue to grow both our brand and sales in this key market.”
