IndyCar: Long Beach race attendance down slightly
“We are very pleased with the weekend attendance,” said Jim Michaelian, President and CEO of the event despite visibly less fans in attendance from all the aerial TV shots. Perhaps they were inside the expo and not at all interested in watching the race.
“Walk up sales were much stronger than we had anticipated, and we ended up with just over 180,000 over the three days, which represents a slight decrease over the 187,500 we did in 2019.
“A big thank you to all of our fans who came out to support us and we’re going to do it all again next April 8-10 for the 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.”
