NASCAR: Ganassi team to layoff 55 employees
Chip Ganassi Racing has notified the state of North Carolina that it will permanently lay off 55 workers, as the Concord-based NASCAR team prepares to go out of business.
The state Department of Commerce received notice from the team this week that the workers will lose their jobs on Nov. 7, department records show. That is timed with NASCAR’s season-ending championship race.
Trackhouse Racing referred The Observer to Chip Ganassi Racing when contacted for comment. Chip Ganassi Racing did not immediately respond to the Observer’s request for comment. Charlotte Observer
Editor’s Note: Ya gotta love those spec cars! We know some guys at Gibbs that got the axe as well. Engineers on down to fabricators. Spec cars = fewer employees, owners love it.
