Rumor: Lundgaard to give up on F1 dream for IndyCar
With almost zero chance of landing an F1 ride, two-time F2 race winner Christian Lundgaard tested for the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing IndyCar at Barber Motorsports Park on Monday.
The Danish Alpine F1 driver academy driver sees other drivers ahead of him in the queue up to F1 and now hopes to become an IndyCar driver.
He and Oliver Askew tested for the RLL team at Barber Monday, both looking to fill an open seat or two at Rahal.
Great day of testing with @RLLracing at Barber! An IndyCar around here is pretty incredible to say the least. pic.twitter.com/eRr13FpnYt

Christian Lundgaard is a brilliant driver getting totally destroyed by F2 team ART’s amateurish antics. The amount of poor decisions, bad luck and second driver syndrome toward Lundgaard is on another level so don’t count this driver out if he makes the move to IndyCar where driver talent means so much more than in F1.
He has been added to our 2022 IndyCar Silly Season Page.
