Supercars postpones Sydney Supernight

Supercars announced that the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight, scheduled for 20-22 August will be moved to later in the year.

Due to current and evolving COVID-19 restrictions Supercars has determined a later date will provide a safe and preferable event experience for Supercars teams, spectators and officials.

Currently if teams went to the venue they would be required to complete a mandatory 14 days isolation upon returning to Queensland or Victoria.

Sydney will be in lockdown until the end of the month, leaving many members of the Supercars staff in the New South Wales capital including category CEO Sean Seamer and lead commentator Neil Crompton.

Today Sydney recorded a further 65 cases as the seven-day average continues to climb.

It is unknown when Sydney will be out of lockdown, however NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has said that they will remain in lockdown until the state is recording no Covid cases.

All other events scheduled on the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship calendar will proceed as scheduled.

Tickets purchased for the event will remain valid for the new running dates, which will be announced soon.
