Clean Electric Vehicle Charging Coming to Road America

Road America and EnTech Solutions have partnered to bring clean energy electric vehicle (EV) charging capabilities to the patrons of Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. This “Go Green” initiative will provide free clean energy EV charging for Road America guests for the 2021 season beginning in mid-July.

EnTech Solutions, a full-service clean energy solutions provider, is installing a solar-powered EV charging station which will be available year-round, with clean energy generated without the utility grid. The solar panels absorb energy, generating electricity for the EV charger. Excess power generated is stored in the batteries for use on cloudy days or after the sun goes down.

Road America is an active participant in the NASCAR Green Clean Air Program. This initiative seeks to neutralize the carbon produced by NASCAR Series events by planting trees around the Road America grounds and surrounding communities. An earlier green initiative at Road America developed by Faith Technologies, a sister company to EnTech Solutions, is the Hagerty Tech Center, a 13-bay garage incorporating an energy-efficient, integrated lighting system powered by a bank of solar panels. This system reduces energy costs and Road America’s carbon footprint while providing substantial light for teams to work on intricate race engines.

“EnTech Solutions is thrilled to continue to partner with Road America in providing clean energy EV charging for customers and drivers,” said Scott Romenesko, EnTech Solutions president. “We know that Road America’s fans will appreciate our off-the-grid energy solutions to support their innovative lifestyles,” he noted.

“The decision by EnTech Solutions to expand its role with us is paramount as we look to continue building the success of Road America in the future,” said Road America’s President and General Manager, Mike Kertscher. “This new commitment brings EnTech Solutions to the forefront of one of our most important initiatives of improving the experience at America’s National Park of Speed, and we can’t wait to see it put to good use.”
