Karem, Power and De Silvestro Make Indy 500 Row 11

Row 11 for the 105th Indianapolis 500 is now in the record books.  Five drivers had the last chance to make the most famous race,  essentially making this the traditional bump day.   With track temperature at 122 degrees, not optimal for Indycars,  the session started in the heat of the day.

Sage Karem, driving a one off for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, grabbed the 31st slot on the grid.  This will be his 8th Indy 500 start for the 26 year old.

Will Power, the absolute best qualifier in the series,  touched the wall during his qualifying run and hung on to finish his qualifying run to grab the 32nd slot.  The 2018 winner has started this race four times on the front row.

Simona De Silvestro, driving the number 16 Paretta Autosport entry, will start in position 33.   This will be her 6th Indy 500.

Charlie Kimball, driving the number 11 entry for Foyt Racing,  and RC Enerson, driving the Top Gun number 75 entry, did not find the speed to make the race.
