Rumor: Honda teams sandbagging at Indy (Update)

This rumor is downgraded to ‘false’ as Honda powered Alexander Rossi ended up turning the fastest no-tow speed on Tuesday at 221.114 mph in his #27 NAPA Andretti Autosport Honda

Rumor has it that the Honda IndyCar engineers have their engine turned down in practice for the 105th running of the Indy 500.

Although Honda powered Scott Dixon has the fastest time so far on Day 2, that was with a tow.  All the top no-tow speeds are Chevy powered, so either Chevy has brought a more powerful engine than Honda to the Brickyard this year, or the Hondas are turned down until it matters……i.e. they are sandbagging.
