IndyCar: Rossi tops GMR Grand Prix Practice 1

Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi, in desperate need of a good result this weekend, turned the fastest lap in opening practice for the GMR Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rossi’s time of 1m09.8784s was just 0.08s faster than 2nd quick Jack Harvey in his #60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda.

Rinus Veekay was 43rd quick for Ed Carpenter Racing ahead of Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Dale Coyne Racing’s Romain Grosjean.

Practice 1 won’t mean much. Run in cooler temps, the car setups will change as the track heats up this afternoon.
