IndyCar: Friday is a ‘free day’ at Belle Isle
Fire up your engines – The Grand Prix is returning to Belle Isle in June!
As per tradition, the first day of the event will be free, and Grand Prix president Michael Montri said that Free Prix Day will bring back some old favorites.
IndyCar and IMSA will be back. The Indy Lights series will make its first return since 2012, and Corvettes will be racing for the first time since 2008.
“It’s important to expose the community to what we do on Belle Isle as far as the event goes and let anyone who wants to come experience it, no barriers,” Montri said.
Final Free Prix Day details are still in the works to observe safety precautions surrounding COVID-19.
The Detroit Grand Prix is set for Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13 on Belle Isle.
