F1 reschedules sessions to avoid clashing with Prince Philip funeral
Formula One bosses have moved qualifying for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola forward by an hour to avoid overlapping with the start of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
The session will now take place between 1 and 2pm local time on Saturday as a ‘mark of respect’ for the Prince, who died on Friday aged 99.
All the practice sessions have been rescheduled as well to comply with regulations governing the gap between different sessions.
Friday’s practice sessions will now start at 11:00am and 2.30pm respectively while final practice on Saturday has been moved to 11:00am – all local times.
We have updated our weekend TV schedule, with times shown in the Eastern Time Zone, accordingly.
