The Triumph and Turmoil of Corvette’s 12 Hours of Sebring
After winning the IMSA season opener at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Corvette Racing were off to a flying start for the 69th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring. They planted the #3 Corvette C8.R on pole for the race, but in the final 10 minutes… disaster struck. They celebrated their 25 year partnership with Mobil 1 by dedicating full Mobil 1 liveries for the weekend.
The stunning red, white and silver cars hammered the bumps of Sebring showing they were a force to be reckoned with. However, in the last 10 minutes, the BMW of Connor De Phillippi for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing collided with the leading Corvette of Antonio Garcia – handing over GTLM victory to Mathieu Jaminet and the WeatherTech Racing Porsche team.
