Rolex 24 Practice 2: Allmendinger Puts MSR, Acura on Top
AJ Allmendinger put Acura on the top of the time sheets for the first time of the week at Daytona International Speedway, with the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing entry quickest in Thursday’s second practice session for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Allmendinger reeled off a quick lap of 1m34.287s late in the session to edge out the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R of Scott Dixon by 0.376 seconds.
GTLM
Gianmaria Bruni put the privateer WeatherTech Racing Porsche atop the GTLM time charts with a lap of 1m42.600s, outpacing the Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, the pair of factory Chevrolet Corvette C8.Rs and the two BMW M8 GTEs. The third BMW – the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 electing to sit out the session

Mirko Bortolotti, driving the No. 111 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo topped the GT Daytona class with a lap of 1m45.690s that was 0.243 seconds faster than the No. 64 Team TGM Porsche 911 GT3 R of Owen Trinkler.
