Fog and frigid temperatures ice out Schumacher’s debut (Update)
Bad news from Race Control – the pit lane will not open in FP1, which means no running this morning. That’s a big blow for all the teams but even more so for Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott who have missed their opportunity to run today.
Session called off π΄ A great pity that @SchumacherMick isn’t able to enjoy his first FP1 due to this morning’s weather conditions… π #EifelGP π©πͺ pic.twitter.com/DOzbnQHXyQ

Unfortunately, we won’t be running during FP1 π
We know it’s frustrating – we want to see cars on track just as much as all of you! We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this session#EifelGP π©πͺ #F1 pic.twitter.com/3J9oO1i1AN

It is foggy, wet and very cold at the Nurburgring Friday morning and opening practice for the Eifel GP has yet to get the green flag as time is now down to under 1-hour in the 90-minute session.
The Ferrari men above, Charles Leclerc and his engineers, are wearing winter coats but it is the fog that has prevented cars on track.
This was to be the debut F1 session for Mick Schumacher driving for Alfa Romeo but all they can do it wait. It does look like the two new boys, Schumacher and Ilott might miss their opportunity to get some serious track time in and an alternate race may have to be found.
Come on clouds, clear off! ππ»#EifelGP pic.twitter.com/yw92KZsSEM
