Move over Danica
02/17/06 Mexico City-based UNICO Racing plans to expand its operations and contest the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship Presented by Yokohama, and it has signed 17-year-old CR Crews of Dallas, Texas as its first driver. The team will join Tommy O'Brien Racing of Dallas for the effort, running under the banner Unico Racing Team USA. UNICO is new and O'Brien is moving over from IRL-IPS and if you see their website you will see they had plans to just do an IPS and Star Mazda program, but with Mazda now in Atlantics, it appears they prefer to stay aligned with Mazda. They have ordered three Atlantic cars.
We believe only one car will run as UNICO ( with CR Crews). We hear the other 2 cars, with Maryeve and Rob Thurmond, will run as O'Brien, but not sure about this. All three cars would be prepared under one roof.
02/15/06 We spotted Maryeve Dufault at Tuesday evening's Atlantic Series announcement in Los Angeles. Of course sex appeal should not matter, but for those of you who think Danica Patrick is a knockout, expect to be bowled over when you meet this gorgeous voluptuous bombshell, a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic. She was turning many a head in Los Angeles Tuesday night, and if she can drive like Katherine Legge, she'll be an instant sensation. It appears she is now leaning toward the Atlantic Series rather than the IPS.
01/24/06 Move over Danica Patrick, if our sources are to be believed, there's a new sex-symbol about to burst onto the IRL scene and she will turn heads. She is the stunning 23-year old French Canadian Maryeve Dufault, who will drive in the IndyPro Series in 2006 even though she was a backmarker in the Star Mazda Series. Oops, we forgot, no talent required in 100% throttle racing, so she'll be fine. Maybe she'll surprise us, but at least she'll be great to watch.
Career Summary:
- 2006- Indy Racing League Infiniti Pro Series
- 2005- Star Mazda Championship Series
- 2004- ESPN Formula Russell Series
- 2002- Miss Hawaiian Tropic International

The three year strategy for Maryeve and O’Brien Racing begins in the Infiniti Pro Series in 2006 and continues through 2008 in the Indy Racing League.
