Borja Garcia

According to AutoRacing1.com sources in Europe, we will soon be able to report that Spanish GP2 driver Borja Garcia will be coming to the USA in 2009 to race in an open wheel series. Sorry we cannot tell you which one just yet.

He was the 2004 Spanish Formula Three champion, and raced in the inaugural GP2 Series season. He raced the full Spanish F3 season in 2003, before moving to the Racing Engineering outfit in 2004 with whom he won the title. Due to his success he stayed with the team as they moved to GP2 Series for 2005, where he partnered with Neel Jani.

In 2006 he raced in the World Series by Renault (WSR) championship for the RC Motorsport team, finishing second overall behind Alx Danielsson. He returned to GP2 in 2007, driving for Durango. In 2008 Borja competed in Superleague Formula, representing Sevilla FC. He won one race (Donington Park) but only managed to finish the championship in 10th position. The race-team running Sevilla FC was Spanish F3 regular GTA-Motor Competicion.
