Toyota Atlantic officials clarify blocking rule
After last weekend's black flag on Katherine Legge for blocking to defend her position in the Toronto race, Toyota Atlantic officials laid down the law to the drivers this weekend in Edmonton. As with Champ Car, no blocking will be allowed, not even one move, to defend your position. A driver must maintain his/her line.
Legge, who qualified 2nd today commented, "It's good because it brings us in line with Champ Car, but it's different than what I am used to in Europe where blocking is common." The other two top three qualifiers on Friday, Tonis Kasemets (1st) and Legge's Polestar teammate Antoine Bessette (3rd) both spoke strongly against blocking and were happy with the ruling.
