Speedcar schedules to receive F1-quality TV coverage

Speedcar Series fans will be treated to the highest-quality TV coverage of the championship after organizers agreed a TV production deal with Bernie Ecclestone's Formula One Management (FOM). The deal will see F1-style coverage beamed around the world, ensuring that the new series is given the very best possible exposure across the globe.

The FOM-managed broadcasts will begin at the first Speedcar Series round of 2008.

The first Speedcar season will start at the first-ever Grand Racing event together with GP2 Asia at the Dubai Autodrome on January 26, to make certain both championships receive maximum worldwide spotlight. Top Speedcar drivers will be on hand in Bahrain on November 2nd and 3rd and in Dubai on November 16th and 17th to perform demonstration runs in their cars.

The media launch of Speedcar Series will take place as scheduled at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, on October 24.

Benoit Lamonerie, General Manager of Speedcar Series, said: "I'm sure motor racing fans everywhere would agree that FOM TV provide the highest-standard, inspirational and compelling television pictures in international sport, and we are absolutely thrilled to be working with them to ensure that our championship broadcasts itself in the very best way. By scheduling the start of Speedcar Series to begin alongside GP2 Asia, and agreeing a television production deal with FOM, we are taking steps to guarantee that our product receives equal billing, and reaches the very widest possible audience. I know I speak for all the staff, teams and drivers when I say we cannot wait for the season to begin, and are looking forward to it with great anticipation."
