Crowds thrilled by Speedcar debut

Race tracks across Asia and the Middle-East will never be the same again after the Speedcar Series made its thrilling debut at the Bahrain International Circuit today.

Many supporters flocked to the circuit to see the cars that will take part in the new-for-2008 competition hit the track together for the very first time. Speedcar's drivers have been pushing their cars close to the limit, staging daring overtaking maneuvers on each other.

All Speedcar drivers are on hand during the 2-day meeting, which concludes tomorrow (November 3). The mix of internationally-renowned racers have already taken to the circuit to make a spectacular first impression and show the fans exactly what they can expect when the series begins at the Dubai Autodrome on January 26 next year.

Away from the action, tomorrow visitors will also be able to meet their heroes in person and receive an autograph, adding to their already special memory of being 'there' at the event where Speedcar Series made its stunning entry into worldwide sport.

Benoit Lamonerie, Speedcar Series General Manager, said: "Speedcar Series has enjoyed a marvelous reception here in Bahrain, and it has been an honor and a pleasure to see the spectators enthralled by our new brand of motor racing. There is plenty more to experience over the remainder of this event, which I'm sure has already wetted the appetites of all the supporters at the Bahrain International Circuit for our first race in Dubai in just under three-months, before our return visit here on April 5 alongside the Formula One World Championship and GP2 Asia."
