Seven drivers pass Indy Pro Series rookie test
NASCAR veteran Brent Sherman and Andretti Green Racing addition Raphael Matos were among seven drivers who successfully completed Indy Pro Series rookie oval testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Jan. 30.
James Davison, Cyndie Allemann, Mark Olson, Jake Slotten and Dan Brode also passed tests on the 1.5-mile oval under the supervision of Indy Pro Series technical director Butch Meyer.
"I was really impressed with the Indy Pro Series car," said Sherman, who tested a car prepared by Panther Racing. "I'm amazed by how much downforce the Indy Pro Series car has. I knew that you go flat out in these cars, so I was ready to build up to that, and the G-forces are so much stronger than what I was used to from driving stock cars."
