Renger van der Zande wins at Hockenheim
Renger van der Zande (Prema Powerteam) won the second season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series. At the 4.574 kilometers long Hockenheimring, the 22-year old Dutchman was 4.556 seconds faster than second placed Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport). The two Volkswagen drivers Edoardo Mortara and Franck Mailleux (both Signature-Plus) occupied third and fourth place. In the overall classification, Italian Mortara is leading after two rounds, tied with Mika Mäki (Mücke Motorsport). Both have ten points. Finnish driver, Mäki, retired after a collision with Jean-Karl Vernay (Signature-Plus).
