Speedcar series chief wants Schumacher

(GMM) Michael Schumacher has been targeted as the dream addition to the novel stock car racing series Speedcar.
Benoit Lamonerie, the general manager of the new series that in its debut season featured former F1 racers including Jean Alesi, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jacques Villeneuve, told Motorsport Aktuell: "I would love simply to have Schumacher in one of our cars."
Also contesting the inaugural season of the mainly Middle Eastern and Asian-based category this year were former F1 personalities Narain Karthikeyan, Ukyo Katayama, JJ Lehto and the first Speedcar champion, Johnny Herbert.
The 2009 season is slated to begin in January and run through to April.
Whether seven time F1 world champion Schumacher, 39, would be interested, however, is questionable.
It is suggested the former Ferrari driver wants to contest the full championship of the German Superbike (IDM) series next year.
The German denies the rumor.
"I read somewhere I now want to fight for the title. As much as I enjoy it, motorcycle racing is only a hobby for me," Schumacher said.
