Jensen MotorSport announces major driver incentive

Jensen MotorSport announced today that the team will provide a big incentive for drivers who plan to compete in the 2009 Formula BMW Americas championship. Jensen MotorSport will award a driver who wins the 2009 Formula BMW Americas series championship, specifically while driving for the Jensen MotorSport team, with a sponsored drive on our Atlantic Championship series team in the 2010 season.

“The Formula BMW championships in the Americas, Pacific, and Europe have produced many terrific drivers, including current Formula One stars Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. However the challenge for most young drivers continues to be the opportunity to graduate up the racing ladder. Jensen MotorSport is proud of our history with graduating drivers from our Formula BMW team to our higher level Atlantic Championship team, including 2006 season drivers Frankie Muniz and Tom Sutherland. With this incentive, we are providing young drivers with a direct path to graduate up the ladder, and also to provide drivers who should win races for our Atlantic Championship team and sponsors in future years" said team owner Eric Jensen.

Jensen MotorSport is a professional car racing team that has been competing in championships in the USA and Canada including the Champ Car World Series, the Atlantic Championship, and Formula BMW. Since 1998, more than forty professional drivers have raced for the team, and many others have advanced their careers by participating in Jensen MotorSport driver development programs.

Launched in 2004, the Formula BMW Americas championship is one of the leading entry-level introductions for young race car drivers to single-seat car racing, a bridge between karting championships and more powerful formula cars. The 2008 Formula BMW Americas schedule is comprised of seven events, including the Formula One races at Montreal Quebec and Sao Paolo Brazil.
