The No. 9 Action Express Racing Porsche Riley that captured the 48th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona Sunday has found a new temporary home – Daytona 500 Experience.
The No. 9 Porsche Riley with drivers Joao Barbosa, Terry Borcheller, Ryan Dalziel and Mike Rockenfeller captured North America’s most prestigious sports car race, edging the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates by 52.303 seconds.
The 755 laps turned by Action Express Racing on the 3.56-mile road course was the second most in the Rolex 24 and the margin of victory – 52.303 seconds – was the third closest finish in event history.
Now race fans will have the opportunity to get up close to the winning Rolex 24 car inside “The Official Attraction of NASCAR." The car, complete with the scratches and tire rubber from the Rolex 24, will be on display through the 52nd annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 14.
Daytona 500 Experience is also home annually to the winning Daytona 500 car. Fans will have their last chance to view Matt Kenseth’s No 17 51st running of the Daytona 500 car during Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes Speedweeks 2010.
The No. 17 Ford will be returned to Roush Fenway Racing on Sunday morning, Feb. 14 prior to the Daytona 500. The following day, the attraction will welcome a new Daytona 500 winner during the Champion’s Breakfast.
