Section Of I-85 Could Be Named After NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon

Mecklenburg County, N.C., commissioners tonight are scheduled to vote for a resolution that renames a stretch of I-85 near Charlotte the Jeff Gordon Expressway, posting signs "all along the route carrying the Sprint Cup Series driver's name." NASCAR officials came to the county with the idea, saying that he "deserves credit for winning" his 85th Sprint Cup race "and for his charitable work" in the area.
