The Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear 2012 season finale will be held at Road Atlanta during the 15th Annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda, October 17 – 20.

A preliminary 2012 Star Mazda Championship information kit is now available online as a downloadable PDF file. Additional announcements still to come include one TBA race, TV package and new series sponsor.

Juncos Racing and international multi-media company Auto a Fondo Media have formed a comprehensive partnership going into the 2012 racing season.

Chicago-based Team Stange Racing, Inc. has announced plans to compete full time in the Star Mazda Championship Series Presented by Goodyear in 2012; additional announcements include engineering and driver coaching appointments and new driver signing.

Andretti Autosport driver Zach Veach enters the final Formula Car Challenge Presented by Goodyear Winter Series races leading the championship by an 11-point margin; Veach is competing in the FCC as a testing platform during the off-season as he prepares to compete in the 2012 Star Mazda Championship.

Anders Krohn, the popular Star Mazda Championship graduate from Stavanger, Norway who is known as "The Viking," has been named to drive Yellow Dragon Motorsports Mazda RX-8 in the premier event of the 2012 Rolex Series, the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Team Stange Racing announced today that it has signed its second driver — Brandon Reed from Elkhart, Indiana — for selected races in the 2012 Star Mazda Championship. Reed’s resume includes karting, Skip Barber, SCCA and Bridgestone race series.

Team Pelfrey announced the addition of 2011 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda champion Petri Suvanto to compete in the Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear. Suvanto will join American Gustavo Menezes, who finished eighth in the 2011 Star Mazda series as a rookie with Juncos Racing, and Englishman Jack Hawksworth, a race winner in last year's Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship.
