On Wednesday, November 20, 2012, Dr. Michael Gervais completed a successful test for Pacific Formula 2000 Championship winning Dave Freitas Racing at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park circuit in Buttonwillow, CA. Guided by the coaching of two time Pacific Formula 2000 Champion and Team USA Scholarship winner Robert Podlesni, Gervais, who had never driven a race car previously, quickly got up to speed in the Dave Freitas Racing Van Diemen and was very impressive in his performance.
Four time Pacific F2000 frontrunner Ira Fierberg commented "It was really cool to see Dr. Gervais drive my #27 car. Dr. Gervais has helped me tremendously to get to the top of the podium, and I was so stoked to have him in my car. It was so cool to see him take in all the information we gave him, and watch him methodically get up to speed. By the second session he was really pushing the car."
