Daly takes lead in MRF Indian Championship with another win

American Conor Daly won round eight of the MRF challenge at the Chennai circuit in India on Saturday morning vaulting him at the top of the points table with just two races to go. After suffering mechanical issues during Fridays qualifying session, Daly started the first race on Saturday morning from thirteenth place on the grid. On a circuit where it is notoriously difficult to pass, Daly picked his way through the field to finish sixth while setting fastest lap of the race.

In a top six reverse grid for race two Daly started on the pole and again set fastest lap of the race as he dominated the field winning by almost ten seconds.

"It was good to jam to the American national anthem again. The track is very bumpy and tight so grid position is very important" said Daly. I have to be super careful tomorrow in race one starting from sixth. After that we'll just have to see how this plays out"

The championship fight has come down to just two drivers, Daly and England's, Jordan King with Daly holding a slim two point lead. Daly won the opening round of the championship during the Indian Grand Prix weekend at the Budd International circuit but King has been the championship leader ever since until today races.
