Afternoon update from Indy (4th Update)

UPDATE #4 Just as the Fast Six group went out to try and claim the pole, a heavy downfall hit the track and the session was red-flagged.

05/09/14 On a very wet track rookie Jack Hawksworth turned the fastest lap in 2nd round of qualifying for the GP of Indianapolis. Also advancing to the Fast Six were Power, Hunter-Reay, Dixon, Saavedra and Pagenaud.

05/09/14 Montoya was fastest in group 2 ahead of Bourdais, Dixon, Kanaan, Hawksworth and Rahal. Aleshin was third fastest but got moved to last for blocking. Servia, Kimball, Aleshin, Conway, and Plowman were knocked out. Just as round 2 is to begin rain began to fall and now the track is wet.

05/09/14 Just as the first group began to qualifying it began to sprinkle, but then it stopped. Pagenaud was fastest of the first group followed by Power, Hinchcliffe, Castroneves, Saavedra and Hunter-Reay. All the rest were knocked out – Andretti, Newgarden, Munoz, Huertas, Montagny and Kimball. The second group of first round qualifying is up next.

05/09/14 The weather has cleared a bit and it looks like IndyCar qualifying will be run in the dry.
