(Jessup, MD — Tuesday, February 10) Race 2 of the 2015 Maryland Varsity Karting League played out a lot like Race 1.
With a blistering qualifying lap, Jemicy School's Brendan Stern earned his second consecutive pole position for the A-main. Stern pulled out to the lead when the green flag dropped. Stern led every lap en route to another flag-to-flag victory, this time edging Leonidas Williams of the Baltimore Lab School on the Monaco course at Autobahn Indoor Speedway.
Race 1 runner-up Jackie Ding of Sandy Spring Friends School rounded out the podium in fourth.
It was also a good night for the River Hill tandem of Zack Spicer and Ben Punsalan. Coming home fourth and fifth respectively, Spicer and Punsalan moved River Hill into first place in the team standings. River Hill currently holds a 4-point edge over the Jemicy tandem of Stern and Conor Patro.
Ding and Yinhao Feng have Sandy Spring 5 points behind Jemicy with the Williams brothers Leonidas and Laurent carrying the flag for Baltimore Lab six points back in fourth.
Race 3 of the inaugural Maryland Varsity Karting League season will be next Tuesday on the Le Mans circuit at Autobahn.
