Kyle Busch will roll into the Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Sept. 4 sporting a special throwback paint scheme on his no. 18 Toyota Camry to commemorate Joe Gibbs Racing’s 25th Anniversary.
The special retro look will be a throwback to JGR’s first Interstate Batteries-sponsored racecar that made its debut in the Cup Series back in 1992 with future Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett behind the wheel.
Jarrett scored the team’s first win in the car just one year into the team’s inception, winning the 1993 Daytona 500.
"This one's a lot more special because it's the 25th anniversary scheme of Joe Gibbs Racing and being able to come back and race that at Darlington is going to be a lot of fun," said Busch. "I'm hoping for a good weekend, and one that we can reminisce a little bit about how Dale Jarrett won the Daytona 500 in this scheme and Kyle Busch also won the Southern 500 in this scheme. So it'll be pretty cool."
